I started the oral appliance, not sure of how much my snoring would be reduced or stopped. I had been a heavy snorer and it was especially loud when I am over tired or slept on my back. Since using the appliance, that heavy snoring disappeared or reduced significantly. I wake up much more refreshed. If I fail to use the appliance I do not sleep good or wake up with a headache. It really works!

“I can’t thank you enough for recommending the SomnoMed snore guard mouthpiece for my obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Although my sleep study results @ Straub Clinic & Hospital showed a “mild” case of OSA, it concerned my wife enough to have countless sleepless nights where she’d intermittently monitor my breathing. She’d become quite alarmed when I’d stop for prolonged periods of time, only to sputter and spew myself back to “life”. My snoring was loud enough for our neighbors to mention hearing me! Acquiring a CPAP machine was strongly recommended as a viable option, but just trying the cumbersome face piece on proved to be too much for me to seriously consider. I was at a loss of what to do next. Your professional recommendation of the snore guard device has proven to be a “lifesaver” for me. Ever since I got the device, I have slept more soundly, more deeply and for longer periods of time and ultimately, awoken each and every morning feeling completely refreshed and ready to face the day. I no longer am groggy for hours or start to doze off after lunchtime or especially on my drive home to Kaneohe (which always scared me!)… The two-piece acrylic (?) mouth guard is quite comfortable and so easy to insert and wear each night. Best dentist I have been to. I needed a tooth extraction on a very decayed tooth. Made a appointment for exam and extraction in same visit. Fast and efficient, in and out in less than a hour! First timer at Ala Moana Dental Group and I left very happy with the treatment and their staff.
I barely waited anytime after I filled out their paperwork as a first time client.
First thing they did was a full mouth X-ray, after that they checked all my gums and after explaining to me what they were seeing Ashley (the dental hygienist) did a very thorough cleaning and was very friendly and professional at the same time.
After that dr. Chow visit me and went over the full mouth X-ray I had just gotten he was very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable.
Overall it was over an hour visit (without any waits) and I will be coming back, already scheduled my next appointment!

I was lucky to get the appointment the same day I called. The stuff was friendly and efficient, the wait was short, and the lobby was nicely decorated and warm. Puts you at ease when you’re gonna have someone in your face. Like Inside you face, has to be top uncomfortable experiences but here it was quick and relatively painless. I thought my last dentist in NYC was modern but heading to towards the back I saw a lot of newer versions of stuff I’ve seen. There office looked very polished and modern with multiple stations, I was directed to sit at one towards to back. Their technology helped diagnose everything quickly and efficiently. I had a 38 year old baby tooth that had to go. they x rayed me immediately. The images were instantaneous and clear on the screen. Dr. Chow reviewed them and discussed my options, recommended extraction of the tooth. He numbed me up, came back, the whole thing was done relatively quick. I remember the old days of two hour dentist trips. The extraction was really fast and clean. I was surprised how quick. The baby tooth wasn’t deeply rooted. I have to make a follow up appointment for my dental implant. But it was a great experience.
