Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. Landmark Dental Group welcomes new patients of all ages, from children to seniors. Our team will review your dental history, complete a thorough exam and build a treatment plan around your goals, your comfort level and your budget. To get started, call us or use our online appointment request form.
What dental services do you offer?
We provide general and family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, dental implants, Invisalign clear aligners, teeth whitening, laser dentistry, biocompatible dental fillings, mercury amalgam removal, TMJ treatment and sleep apnea treatment. Because we handle preventive, cosmetic and restorative care under one roof, most patients never need to be referred elsewhere.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first appointment usually includes a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, a review of your medical and dental history, and a professional cleaning when appropriate. Your dentist will walk you through what they find, answer your questions and outline any recommended treatment with costs before anything is scheduled.
How often should I have a dental cleaning and exam?
Most patients do best with a cleaning and exam every six months. If you have gum disease, a history of frequent cavities, diabetes or other risk factors, we may recommend visits every three to four months. Regular visits are the least expensive way to keep your teeth healthy, because small problems are caught before they require major treatment.
Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes. We work with most major dental insurance plans and are happy to file claims on your behalf so you receive the maximum benefit available under your policy. Coverage varies by plan, so call our front desk with your plan details and we will help you understand your estimated out-of-pocket cost before treatment begins.
What payment options do you offer?
We accept cash, major credit cards and third-party financing options such as CareCredit, which allows you to spread the cost of treatment into monthly payments. Our team will always review your estimated costs with you in advance so there are no surprises.
Do you speak languages other than English?
Our team is able to assist patients in several languages spoken across Hawaii, including Japanese, Tagalog and Ilocano. If you would feel more comfortable communicating in a language other than English, let us know when you call and we will make arrangements for your visit.
Do you see children?
Yes. We provide family dentistry and welcome children for cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, sealants and cavity care. Bringing the whole family to one office makes scheduling far easier, and it helps children build a positive relationship with dental care from an early age.
What do I do if I have a dental emergency?
Call us right away at (808) 946-6326. We make every effort to see patients with urgent needs such as a broken tooth, a lost crown, severe tooth pain, swelling or a knocked-out tooth as quickly as possible. If your tooth has been knocked out, keep it moist and bring it with you.
What is biocompatible dentistry?
Biocompatible dentistry focuses on using materials that work in harmony with your body. In our office that means metal-free, tooth-colored fillings, ceramic implant options and careful material selection for patients with sensitivities or a preference for mercury-free care. Ask your dentist which materials are appropriate for your restoration.
Can you safely remove my old mercury amalgam fillings?
Yes. We follow safe amalgam removal protocols designed to limit mercury vapor and particle exposure during the procedure, then replace the old filling with a durable, tooth-colored restoration. Many patients choose this both for health reasons and for the improved appearance of a natural-looking filling.
How can I replace missing teeth?
Dental implants are the most stable, longest-lasting option for replacing one tooth, several teeth or a full arch. We use metal-free ceramic implants and 3D cone beam imaging with guided software for precise placement. Bridges and dentures remain excellent alternatives depending on your bone structure, health history and budget.
Do you offer Invisalign or braces?
We offer Invisalign clear aligners, which straighten crowded, gapped or misaligned teeth using a series of removable, nearly invisible trays instead of brackets and wires. Aligners are popular with both adults and teens because they are comfortable, easy to clean around and far less noticeable than traditional braces.
How can I whiten my teeth?
We offer professional teeth whitening that lifts stains from coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco and aging far more effectively than store-bought strips. Because treatment is supervised by a dentist, we can protect your gums, control sensitivity and give you an even, natural-looking result.
Can a dentist help with jaw pain, clicking or headaches?
Yes. Jaw pain, popping or clicking sounds, morning headaches, worn teeth and difficulty chewing can all point to a TMJ disorder or nighttime grinding. We evaluate your bite and jaw function and may recommend a custom oral appliance, bite adjustment or other conservative therapy to relieve pressure on the joint.
Can you treat sleep apnea and snoring without a CPAP machine?
Many patients with snoring or mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea can be treated with a custom oral appliance that keeps the airway open during sleep. It is small, quiet and travel-friendly, which makes it a welcome alternative for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP. Schedule a sleep evaluation with our team to find out whether you are a candidate.
I am nervous about going to the dentist. Can you help?
Absolutely. Dental anxiety is very common, and our team is experienced in helping patients feel at ease. We explain each step before we begin, work at a pace you are comfortable with and never pressure you into treatment. Tell us about your concerns when you arrive and we will adjust your visit accordingly.
