Biocompatible Cavity Fillings

Biocompatible Cavity Fillings in Honolulu & Waikiki

Landmark Dental of Hawaii specializes in biocompatible dentistry in Honolulu, Waikiki, and the nearby areas. With advancements in modern dentistry, it has become apparent that mercury fillings can pose potential health hazards due to the toxicity levels present. The mercury that is contained within silver fillings has been detrimental to the health of many individuals who are now looking for a healthier replacement.

Healthier Tooth-colored Fillings

At Landmark Dental, we strive to provide healthy and natural alternatives to the harmful amalgam fillings that were more commonly used in the past. That is why we offer natural, biocompatible fillings which are safer for the body. We remove the old, amalgam fillings precisely and safely and provide more advanced, tooth colored fillings to replace the harmful mercury amalgams.

Premier Tooth Restoration

Replacing an older filling is a skill that requires measuring the total surface and biting surface that are involved, considering the size of the defect which needs repairing, and comparing other factors. We also take into account the cosmetic appearance as well as overall strength, durability, and comfort when selecting a tooth restoration material.

We utilize the CEREC one-visit approach to fully restore the affected tooth using tooth colored porcelain after the older filling has been taken out. By using this tooth restoration method, we are able to make it more resistant to wear and tear.

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings are comprised of a tooth colored material that is bonded firmly to the tooth. Using these materials is limited to smaller fillings and not those with large surface areas where heavy chewing takes place.
